About the Role

We are currently looking for a senior-level front-end developer to boost their career within our highly skilled and growing team.

The role involves creating mobile web-apps for well-known brands using HTML5, CSS3 and hand-coded JavaScript to develop rich animated experiences for a specific mobile platform. A background in timeline based software (such as Flash) would be an advantage and a good understanding of object oriented scripting essential.

Skills Required

  • Expert Level: Hand Coded JavaScript / Object Oriented Programming
  • High Level: HTML5 and using CSS3 transitions for animation, or use of any animated software (like Flash). HTML4 and xHTML

Core Responsibilities

  • Creating mobile web-apps using HTML5, CSS3 and hand-coded JavaScript
  • Lead a team of developers in the design and coding phases of mobile web-app development.
  • Provide expertise of relevant coding languages; mentoring when necessary
  • Resolve technical obstacles
  • Monitoring and ensuring coding is addresses functional requirements and is compliant with coding principles and standards to ensure delivery within project timeframes
  • Participate in meetings with team members, and clients when necessary

About You

  • At least 6 years experience in web development (preferably agency-side)
  • 3+ years experience as team leader of development projects
  • Creating code of the highest quality to rigorous standards, focusing on performance, and re- usability
  • Strong knowledge of code documentation and handover processes
  • Willingness to actively participant in whole development life cycle including creating development plans
  • Good mentoring skills
  • Excellent communications skills (internally and client facing)
  • Experience of working with version control systems such as SVN
  • Passion for best practice guidelines and coding standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Thirst for knowledge and all things digital!

Degree in Computer Science desirable
