Today the Dream Teachers competition has launched in the UK and entries are now being accepted!

Beyond has worked with Google to deliver this innovative educational programme that aims to showcase and praise the wealth of teaching talent that we have in the UK. Teachers are invited to answer one of the 21 hardest GCSE questions as selected by Britain’s exam boards, to be in with a chance to win £3,000 for themselves and £7,000 for their school.
The competition will run for the duration of the much hyped UK Channel 4 series – Jamie’s Dream school (which airs for 7 weeks starting on Wednesday 2nd March. Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has teamed up with some of Britain’s most influential and inspiring mentors to try and encourage students who have previously been unsuccessful within the education system. The 7 part documentary follows the ups and downs of both the celebrity teachers (Art is taught by Rolf Harris!) and the second chance pupils and is tipped to be hugely popular by critics.
Get involved and vote on the ‘helpfulness’ of entries, which will contribute to the teacher’s success within the competition. You can also get involved by nominating a teacher that you think would be great at answering one of the competition questions. The 7 winners, 1 for each subject, will be announced after April 5th and showcased as ‘Britain’s Best Teachers!’
Not only will the competition highlight successful teaching practices but it also hopes to help GCSE students across the UK with some of the questions which the majority of students struggle with.
